Halloween Party

We had a Halloween party at my house. Only a few people dressed up, and I only managed to get photos of this one. It was the best one, but I don't know why I didn't get everyone... oh well.

Isaiah the Robot. He came and spit out corn nuts out of his front. It was really funny.

We started off eating, and talking and Jesse read some scary stories to us. Then we bobbed for apples. It was quite enjoyable and the apples were perfect. (I'm a picky apple eater.)

The Haunted Lagoon

On Saturday I went to the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) with some of my friends. They have a Haunted Lagoon there. It's like a haunted house, but you are riding in a canoe down their little canal. We got there at 6:30 and ended up waiting in line for 3 hours. Standing in line wasn't too bad because we were all together, but it was long! Once we got there though it was really good. I was surprised at how well they did. It was the right combination of jumpy and scary. One might say it was Spooktacular! Here are some picts from it:

Update

Well, this past week has been pretty good. I stuck with my 6 am workouts and I even joined the YMCA. My friend Teisha and I are going every night. She is whipping me into shape there. Just so you get an idea of how hard she is working me. The first day we spent 20 minutes doing cardio, 45 minutes doing wieghts, concentrating on our backs and arms, and then finished it off with another 40 minutes of cardio. At this rate, I'll be in shape in no time! :)
This week I am concentrating on drinking more water and cutting back (way back) on the sugar. I love sugar, I don't know why but I do. So I'm going to try hard this week. Oh, and I lost 2 pounds :)

It's a Long Road to Victory Day 1

Well, I have finally decided it is time. I need to kick my butt into shape. I've given it some thought and decided that staying in shape is easy, you work out 3-5 times a week for 45 minutes a day. No problem. The real challenge is getting into shape. It's gonna take a lot more work!! So, I devised a plan with the experteise of my sister.

My goal: lose 20 pounds and tone those muscles.
My goal date: January 31

Here is what I am doing:

Each morning I am waking up and doing a workout DVD from the Firm series. I recently purchased 5 Firm workout DVDs off of amazon.com, that way I have a different one each day. These workouts are great because they combine cardio with weight training.

After I do that I do some windsor Pilates workouts. This morning I did the bun and thighs one and all I have to say is OUCH!! It was a good kind of pain though.

In the evenings I am doing another 30 minute cardio workout such as another DVD, speed walking or running. I am also using the exercise ball to do some more less sweaty exercises.

Oh boy!! that is the plan. I'm trying to tell myself that I CAN do it and that it WILL work and that I will LOVE it. I decided to also make sure I'm drinking plenty of water and cutting back on sugar. I'll keep you updated on how I'm doing once a week. That way I'm motivated because I have to report it. ha ha ha ha. Anywho, That's my plan and yeah for the long road to victory of being in shape!!

I NEED MORE PROJECTS

I was asked by a friend to paint these for Dr. Suess week at the YMCA. I had a lot of fun doing them. I spent a lot of time on Saturday doing them. I really like art, perhaps that is why I went to school for it. Why don't I do it more often?? I'm asking for suggestions to use my artistic abilities. Any ideas? Any at all???

The things I love

One of the things I miss most about home is the big mountains and Tabiona (my home away from home). I miss the rustle of the trees when the wind blows, the sound of the humming birds at grandma's feeders, the trickling of the river, the relaxation of fishing all day, the peaceful mornings on the porch swing the beauty of the deer in the fields, the smell of cow manure, (yes that's right, I miss it!)
My mom went out to Tabiona this past weekend and took some pictures for me and Missy. Here is my favorite place on earth:

Another thing I love is the fall. I could spend hours in the fall driving up in the mountains, taking pictures and enjoying the crisp air. I love the crunchy sound of the leaves beneath my feet and the colors of the leaves. If you haven't experienced fall, I highly suggest you try it!

That is all for now. Peace out
